Astromech Ankle Locks

Ankle locks. You will receive 4 plates, 2 for the center foot, and 1 for each outer ankle and 4 stainless bolts to mount them. These will be made from 1/4" (.250) 6061 high strength aerospace aluminum alloy.

What is an ankle lock? An ankle lock is a small wedge that goes on top of your foot shell, on the lower inner flat side of your ankle that will keep your foot shell from "bucking" or pivoting when you don't want it to. They lock in the ankle to foot pivot joint essentially.

I can send standard or metric bolts if needed for our non Imperial friends.  Please select the Metric option.

NOTE: It has been brought to my attention that if yo have wood legs with a large opening for wires, this is probably not a good solution for you.  The lock relies on the surface of the bottom of the ankle and if it is not present, there is nothing to grab onto.
